Gujarat trip 2015-day 1

we were on a holiday to Gujarat for a week with my aunt. We left Bangalore on 11th July that was a Friday. We boarded the plane at 6:30 am and landed at 8:40.
We first went to a Jain temple on the way to our hotel. This temple is said to be one of the oldest Jain temples in Ahmadabad. After visiting this, we checked into our hotel, freshened up and left to visit the Sabarmati ashram.

This is where the father of the nation lived. We walked around, took photos bought a few things for my friend from the gift shop and whatever the usual tourists do. I forgot to mention that we had also purchased a charka. This the same place from which Gandhi started the Satya Graha movement.

In the afternoon we visited the Akashardham temple, here I came across an incident which makes me feel stupid, as I had worn three fourths and they do not allow anything above knee level. Luckily for me it was not above my knee level so they let me go. Akashardham is the temple of Swami Narayan. We went around the temple, later we had good lunch in the cafeteria and left.

On our way back to the hotel we stopped at the Adilaj Vav, this was built in the 16th century. It is a huge stepwell which is just mind blowing. Later we went to hotel Vishala a traditional Gujarati restaurant for dinner.

Ford almost built a Mid-engined Corvette rival in 1986? History of the Ford GN34

Ford GT40 crushed the Ferrari at Le Mans in the 60’s but 20 years later it was still Ferraris and Porsches winning the sales with highly profitable sports cars. In the domestic market the Corvette was also a great success though it never offered the same quality or feel as its European rivals. It looked like Ford was just letting go of a great opportunity to grab some profits with their own sports car.  Two design houses that were part of this project  Behind closed curtains Ford's very own Specialty vehicle operations (SVO) decided to work on creating a fast mid-engined sports car that would compete with the other fast European premium sports cars but at the price of a Corvette. The project started in late 1983 with the code name GN34. The project would use resources from around the world with Italian styling, British chassis engineering, European assembly standards and would also boast of the built tough reliability. The full details of this project was never fully revealed until
